Philco 49-900

I am repairing a Philco 49-900. The radio has fitted to it 14F7 tube instead of a 14AF7. I get a 'cut off' from time to time Just for a mini second or so. I can find no faults with the radio but suspect this tube may be the culprit. Should I change it for the correct one or will this replacement tube work well enough and I have a fault as yet unfound.

Frank,

All my substitution books do not show a direct sub for the 14F7 tube. The 14F7 is a high-mu twin triode whereas the 14AF7 is a medium-mu twin triode. Both have the same basing.

Frank,

Hit enter before I was finished. An XXD may be substituted for the 14AF7 tube.

Thanks for the help so far. Can't find a substitute myself either.
