Hello All,
There is a page in the resources for this model but no schematic here:
http://www.nostalgiaair.org/Resources/652/M0018652.htm

Is the schematic somewere else or did Riders omit that one?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,
There is a Beitman schematic available in DJVU format:
http://techpreservation.dyndns.org/schematics/
You will need a plug-in or viewer, see instructions on the page linked above.

Carl,
Are the capacitors in the Sparton C-R units, ceramic or paper capacitors?

Thanks,

Dave

Looking at the parts list, they are capacitor/resistor units.
example: PA4330-10 consists of C17 & R7.
Without seeing the caps, I have no idea what type of cap was used.

Carl,
OK, Maybe someone else knows. I will take a chance that they are ceramic. I don't think that they could be so small otherwise. They look like tiny white cylinders with a ring near one end. These units can have 2 or 3 wires on them. One is connected to the ring, one to the end near the ring and the optional wire is at the opposite end. I have seen them before in a radio but never so many.

Thanks very much again for the schematic.

Hello All,
They must be ceramic capacitors in the C-R units because after replacing one paper capacitor and 5 electrolytic capacitors this radio is working like new. There's a very tiny amount of hum but it's not noticable at normal listening levels. The 6 x 9 speaker delivers a full rich sound from FM.
Now if I could find a dial stringing diagram, that would help me complete this restoration.

Thaniks,

Dave

Dave, you need to get a copy of SAMS 57-19. Someone may have a copy or perhaps your library carries them.

Bill,
It's also in SAMS dial stringing diagrams volume 2 diagram 977. I have neither of them.

Thanks for the SAMS cross reference.
