Koronette Stereo Bar/Fireplace
1/24/2007 7:39:12 PMCheryl Powell
I recently purchased the Koronette Stereo Bar/Fireplace from someone on Craigs List in NYC. The stereo does not work and I cannot test it because the power cord is missing. I would like to know if anyone has a manual or knows of somewhere I can purchase a cord. Thanks

Wow. Combo stereo, bar, and fireplace? Is this for real? I will believe it if you post a photo, and link it here. Can you do that?

I suspect this must be a transistorized stereo, not tube-type. Most of us on this forum aren't smart enough to advise you on this kind of thing; well maybe the fireplace part. Most of us are still in the first half of the 20th Century.

Replacing the power cord would be simple, even for a rube like me. But usually, if the power cord is missing, it may indicate that a prior owner gave up on it, whatever "it" is.

Hi there,

I currently own a Koronette Bedienungsanleitung 2070 HF-Stereo. It has the fireplace, turn table, radio and bar that you are speaking about. I also have the original instruction manual for it. I am actually selling this stereo this week so if you are interested in the manual, I can scan it for you and email it to you. But you have to let me know very soon.

They called it Gizmo. Ultimate Tacky.

Philco had an unfused RadioBar which occasionally turned into a fireplace.

This looks like it was the ultimate centerpiece in a bachelor-pad setup from the late 60's ;-)

Back in the 1970’s K-Mart sold a Phonosonic. This was about a six foot long bar. Had a AM-FM radio with phonograph. The front of the bar had semi clear plastic panels that had 3 different color light bulbs behind it. Each color bulb was on a High–Medium-Low separate sound sensor that would flash with the sound of the music played. This was when Disco was popular. Have not seen any of these anymore.
