I bought a similarly featured Heath sig Generator for only abot 25 bucks.
I also found a good low cost digital frequency counter ($30)
It's nice to use the freq counter to be able to adjust your signal generator exactly to the desired freq such as 455kc or 465kc or what ever. This sig gen has a dial with 455kc marked on it but you can be exact useng the freq counter as well.
Thanks again! Don.

:This will be great for you.
:Here's a place to download the manual and schematic for it too.

I agree with Peter. Nice, simple uit...and the price is right.
As for a digital counter you could buy a cheap digital radio on eBay and use it close to your generator's probe monitor the frequency. I've seen multibands digital radio for about 25$ on eBay...

By the way.. too bd you lost the bid... so go get one of the Heathkit generators there.. that's the one I have.. no problem.

Once again, wish me luck!
As for a frequency counter, I have a digital tuner as part of the surround sound in the living room.. set the generator and just put the probe near the tuner and I should be able to see if it's close, correct?
That is, if I ever do win one of these auctions, not to mention any of the shipping charges!
:But a good digital counter can often be found on Ebay for around $30 as well

You should be fine. I have the 1g-102 model and a freq counter.
Your digital tuner may not cover the whole freq range. Will it read at 455kc?
but try it.. I happen to like having the digital readout as I'm tuning across all/any bands...
Besides counters are so cheap now.. why try to figure how to do it by using your tuner?
... but hey ...some guys like that creative & slightly more frugal stuff... lol
Shipping is cheap... lol on this sig gen so... go for it..
good luck
