Atwater E speaker test

Is there a way I can test the speaker element(vibrator) for an E speaker when it is out of the cabinet. I measured 600 ohms on the coil but would like to see the reed move and make sure it's adjusted properly.

Hi Dave,
Just touch your leads to a C size battery. You should get static thru the speaker if all's well. If you're getting an ohms reading across the leads, it should work.

The coil element is out of the unit, hence no speaker cone. small dc voltage wont move this reed, its super heavy steel like 18 gauge.

Hi Dave

It's good if you read 500-2000 ohms resistance. When bad these coils are open.
