Coronado 774 with motor tuning
1/10/2007 6:00:37 PMJohn Hof
I'm just finishing up a beautiful Coronado 774 and I THINK I have the motor tuning working. The trouble is, it is not clear just how this thing is supposed to work. Does anyone out there have any idea what the operating instructions for this mechanism are? Thanks much, John.

John,
Try looking at the schematic for a Truetone model D-696. I finished mine a few months ago and it has motor tuning. The schematic gives good details on the mechanism. See if it is similar to yours.Could be it is the same,as Coronado was the store brand for Gambles-Skagmore(sp?).
Good luck,
Jon.

Thanks much for the thought, but I don't think they are similar. The Coronado 774 is c. 1938 and the tuning mechanism is a massive combination of gears, cables, pulleys, and 16 pushbuttons (two rows of 8). Thanks though, John.
