Caps in EH Scott 510
1/9/2007 2:14:34 PMBill Cluff
I found a few "different" caps in a Scott Model 510 tuner section. They are;
MALLORY .05MFD 600V are Lt Blue in color, PVC, +/- 10%
SPRAGUE .005/.05/.1MFD, 600V, Red-Orange in color, shiney like PVC, +/- 10%
They look to be original to the unit. Are these a special type of cap? Should they be replaced with the paper and electolytic caps?
Any help would be appreciated.

:Hi Bill
With those values they are more than likely bypass capacitors, so mylar capacitors would work as replacements.

Hi
I don`t know if they are hard to get but if you can find them YES they will need to be replaced almost all tube radios will needthe caps replaced. A good website to try to get them at is www.justradios.com.
