Eioc 625 Tube Tester: 7xx Tubes
6/14/2000 11:30:45 AMRoy Plotnick
I have an Eico 625 Tube tester with the roll chart. I also have some Philco radios with tubes
that are not listed, such as 41, 7A7, 7B7, 7C6, and 7C7. Is there an available chart that lists
the settings for these tube types? Thanks. -Roy

Hello Roy

I will have to look tonight when I get home but I should have an OBS Tube setup chart for this tester. This should be what you are looking for.

Thanks! Much appreciated. I may have to bother you again with other tubes
in the future, unless I can find a chart. -Roy

No problem,, a few tube settings on my chart are missing as it had a small section missing when i bought it..
it's hard to find one in good shape..
i had intended to make a copy and somehow find a suitable length of paper or paste sections run out of my printer...
Big project!..may be awhile before i get around to it..i have a tv7/du and the 625 was just a pet project..

Have any idea if yours reads correctly of not.?..
this one seems to read low, although it's linear and at least i can tell if a tube is a problem/not a problem with it quickly on the bench without dragging out the TV7, which takes up too much space..

E mail me if you need any more settings...

check www.manualman, he might have one for sale.

I am trying to get an Eico 625 tube tester working properly.
Does anyone know if there exists an assembly/repair manual?
I located a short 8 pg manual that has a schematic adn instructions
how to test the tubes, but that's all. I took the cover off, found
some broken wires and reheated some questionable looking solder joints.
It appears to work up to the point where you press the
"Merit" button, after you set the line adjust to midscale. When I press
Merit, the needle does not move at all (meaning it stays in the
marginal range. I've tested several different types of tubes that supposedly
work including a new one with the same results. I also replaced one resistor and an old paper cap.

Anyone experienced in troubleshooting these old tester have any idea what I can
do next? Is there any calibration type procedure that Eico
had on other testers that could apply and help pinpoint a problem area?

Thanks for any help

Rick
