A friend of mine has blessed me with a radio with no tubes and no labels. It is a Howard, five tube (probably superhet). All the sockets are octals, all of them are lined up in a row at the back edge of the chassis, all their index pins face the same way, in this order, L-R: Tube, IF can, tube, tube, tube, tube. The 2nd IF is in the middle of the chassis, the tuning Cap is on the Left (facing the back of the set) PM speaker on the right, only two controls (on/off/vol and tuning), and has a spider-wound antenna, and tunes AM only. One pilot lamp. Deco wooden cabinet, with a brown Bakelite Grill. Thanks for your help this time and always.

Hi,
First question: Are the heaters in series, or parallel? (Is there a power transformer in the radio?)

Second question if there is a power transformer: Is there a tube that has 4 wires running from the transformer to one socket? (and two others running to the filaments of the other tubes?)

Next question in any event- Are there any grid cap connections?
