Not all it was cracked up to be...

All,
So after researching my Stewart Warner, I found a couple of issues with it. First off, it seems that the Collaro Conquest is not original; as there is about a 16yr difference between the two. Secondly, I found that the plate upon which the record player rests is not original (although it was tastefully done). I am pretty sure that this is a rather quality item, but I am curious as to what would have been original ? It is an 11-6V model.

Thanks !

Steve: "Resources" on this site doesn't indicate which player was used with the 11-6V, there are nine of them (11-6V1 thru 11-6V9). But, they list a "Record Player" and several other players-a V series(Maybe "Voice of Music"?) under Stewart Warner.

Thanks Carl....Oh well, I'll just use the one that came with it; it should still work well.

Thanks again,
Steve

Hi Steve,
I understand you wanting to get the original record changer. I believe it was a VM just don't know which. However, I was kinda thinking some others here would rise up in defense of your Collaro "Conquest" chasnger. That's a good one, made in England as you know. It's very likely someone up the line before you purposely changed out the old. In any event hope you locate an original.

Bill,
Thanks for the help. I have committed to keeping the Collaro; I am just going to make a proper frame for it. The past owner just cut a piece of plywood to make a mounting plate =). I purchased some cherry @ the local lumber emporium, and some brass hardware to affix my frame properly. I will post photos once I wrap it up over the course of the next week.
Now I just need to find a new needle for it...

Thanks yet again,
Steve
