PS

I would also like to know if it runs off of AC power.

The label on the unit only reads "12 volts DC".

Lou,

This unit does not have a built in power supply....it runs from DC only but a separate power supply was available (Panasonic part no. TY192P)The power supply is detailed on the schematic. I have the service data available if you want it. please either email me or post your email address if you would like it.

Lou,

I have a Panasonic TR535 AM/FM/TV. IT has an internal power supply and has provision for 120VAC, 12VDC or internal batteries. The batteries it takes are Panasonic Panalloid TY-355, 6v,3aH sealed lead-acid. The batteries measure:

Length 4 7/8 inches
Width 2 9/16 inches
Height 1 1/4 inches
Snap Connectors 1 7/8 inches center-to-center

Yours may use the same battery. The batteries lay in a removable tray that is incerted from the rear.

I assume the batteries are no longer available?

I could make substitutes from rechargeables, I suppose.

Lou,

I never could find any info on the availability of the batteries. At one time I did some checking for batteries with close to the same physical measurements and was tinking of changing the snaps to something that would attach to the new battery. Just decided to use it on AC.
