Need GE Model E-51 Dropping Resistor Wattage Rating
11/10/2006 12:22:33 AMThomas
The 150 ohm dropping resistor for my GE model E-51 tests open and needs to be replaced. R10 (47 ohm) and the 30 ohm section of WR-12 are within acceptable tolerances.

How do I calculate the wattage rating required for the 150 ohm resistor or will someone provide me with this information?

The 150 ohm resistor is located in a 0.3A series filament string.

Power should be .3 x .3 x 150 = 13.5 watts.

Go with a 20 watt resistor for a margin of safety.
