Re:
RCA Victor Special Model K Electric Phonograph (Battery Operated)

I will be grateful for any information about the Burgess 6TA60 (or GTA60) battery pack for this phonograph that was manufactured for display at the 1939 Worlds Fair. When I acquired the phonograph is operated on replacement Everyready # 742 batteries. Are replacement batteries available?

Thanks very much.

The Burgess 6TA60 is an A-B battery, 1.5 volts A and 90 volts B. You could search this site and see what some say about replacements. I never looked for replacements cause I use a power supply. Some wire together 10 9-volt batteries in series for the B battery. Maybe you should read over this:

http://antiqueradio.org/bsupply.htm

And then do a search on the web for replacements. The 10 9-volt is probably the cheapest if room enough. They will last a long time.

Hi

Here is something interesting about Burgess. Their part numbers indicates number of cells in the battery. Each cell is 1 1/2 volts.
