Battery pack plug?
11/6/2006 1:36:15 PMtom
I made myself a home brew battery pack for my T.O. to test I hooked it up with aligator clips and it worked good , but I want to build a enclosure for it to replicate the battery pack, my only stummbling block is the plug to connect it to the radio via the original plug I can't seem to find these anywhere , does anyone know of a site which might reproduce these or plans to make your own plug?
Thanks
T.

Watch e-bay, the original battery packs show up from time to time. Buy one, remove the old battery guts and put yours inside and connect it to the original connector and your good to go. Good Luck

I have not seen any for sale. The few I have I salvaged from old AB battery packs, but AB battery packs are all gone now. You can make your own. Using a block of wood 1/2 inch thick about 1" by 2" mark and drill the 4 pin holes so the plug from your radio fits properly into them. you will need to drill them 1/64 to 1/32 larger than the pin size. purchace and remove the female insert out of these http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103449&cp=2032058.2032231.2032286&parentPage=family avalible at ratshack. Solder your B+ and A wires to the female, pull the wires through the correct holes you drilled until the metal plug is flush, and you have it. You may wish to use a structural adhesive like JB Weld on the back side so they will not pull out when you unplug the radio. I mount this by drilling a 5/8" hole in the side of the eliminator and mount this block inside with JB weld.
