Will I ever find a functional chassis for a Radiola 46
11/4/2006 9:32:32 PMBruce Walters
I picked up a nice cabinet for a Radiola 46, the transformers look ok (not tested yet), but the pot metal chassis is so torqued that it is trash. I spent three days manufacturing a chassis that seems to work mechanically but I doubt that the tunning will actually work because the tolerances are questionable. Does anyone know if I will ever find a restorable chassis or do I just shine this cabinet up and turn it into liquor cabintet?

Bruce, I have a model 46 chassis, complete, except for tubes. A friend recently bought a complete radio to use only the cabinet, and was going to throw out the chassis, so I rescued it. It is not cherry, but it is complete, including a usable speaker. I'm asking $20 for the radio, plus shipping if you are interested. I can come up with some photos, if given a few days, as it is currently in my storage bldg. Shipping cost will depend on location, so if you re interested, please include your zip code.

Richard,

I am in San Marcos, California, 92069. I would be delighted to pay shipping and $20 for the radio. I few pictures would help me validate we are talking the same thing and I think we are. I really appeciate the response and I hope you have what it takes to restore this thing. Like many of us, I love these old things and i just hate to see them go to the graveyard if there is any way to save them. My email address is gptwo@cox.net
