I recently acquired a FADA 215 which has 3 very small slits in the speaker cone that I wish to repair.
Also, does anyone know where I can obtain suitable speaker grille cloth for a radio this age?
Thanks for your help,
Darryl

Just as an aside, do you think $10 was an ok
price to pay for it? I'm new to US tube radios
and would like to know what sort of price I can
expect to pay for 30's and 40's radios.

How badly is the cone damaged? If they are clean cuts, the cone can be repaired. If the edges are tight fitting, the area can be glued together with a number of adhesives. A certain amount of flexibility is desired, but any repair is going to effect some of the appearances of the speaker. Ambroid, Duco cement, even 3M clear weather strip and trim adhesive are some good general purpose adhesives that can be applied in a thin layer. If the area needs reinforcement, or to cover gaps, construction can work, but colored cotton art paper is much better.
