I got this Airline upright table model BR93-715A, (1939). Dumb question but how do you turn it on? Short of removing the chassis there is no apparant way of turning this set on and off.

John,

See if there is a round button to the left of the pushbuttons. My set has this as the on/off.

Terry, There appears to be a round button place to the left of the push buttons but it is empty and there is a push-push switch behind it that can't be actuated unless you remove the chassis. I don't get it. It appears to be all original but no way to use the on/off switch.

John, that set may have problems and the prior owner placed the on/off switch the way he did so you can't turn it on. Watch your self on this one. PL

Well it is certainly weird. The bezel bore for the push button is not hollow...never was open...just like it was never intended to be used...almost looks like the bezel was replaced by the wrong bezel...otherwise it looks original in every respect.

The plastic bezel (tennite?) does not age well and probably warped enough such that the plastic plunger button was sticking in the bezel bore. A former owner likely had it removed. Same thing was done to my radio. I resorted to leaving the power switch on.
