Magnavox Micromatic plays slowly
9/22/2006 5:01:17 PMJim
My Magnavox Micromatic console record player is playing records slowly. It appears that the 'drive wheel' may have once had a rubber edge which is now missing. This causes the plastic wheel to directly contact the spindle without the proper friction. Could anyone help with a replacement part or other solution.

Hi Jim

The part is called an idler wheel. You might be able to put an "O" ring over the wheel?

You can also contact West Tech Services at 304 349 2149 or www.west-techservices.com or Vintage Electronics 601 264 4755 or phonoed@aol.com .

Hi Jim
One other place to try would be "Kens Electronics" I've purchased idler tires from him before, very good source as well.
