Hi Bud

Try adding a capacitor across the AC line or line filter right near the fluorescent light. Noise can be generated from the light itself. Metal screen, grounded, may help over the light?

If you are trying to pick up weak stations best to turn off the fluorescent lights.

I like the idea of placing a metal screen over the light! I think I'm going to try it! You could use hardware cloth or chicken wire. Filters on the line cord along with this may prove to be quite a success!
