The one in the book is AM only. The one I bought is AM/FM but looks just like the one above. Only difference is the scale has AM on the bottom and FM on the top and the center knob is the band selector. Other than that they are identical in appearance.
No model number on the back. There is a sticker with a serial number but it is rather faint.
I tried to get the back off. The back has a sticker that says something about an interlock and being cautious about removing the back. It also apparently had some kind of instruction about how to remove the back and not screw up the interlock. Part of that label is missing and I have not figured out the secret yet. Can anyone give me some guidance? Other than that I am going to pull out the screws that hold the chassis in the case and get everything out where I can see it.
CORRECTION: The AM band is on the top of the scale and the FM band is on the bottom or under the pointer.
Emerson 756 Series B is AM only by the schematic.

What tubes are in your radio? This might help to determine model number?

::Just got back from the junk store. I got an Emerson radio. Looking in the Slusser book, 6th Edition, on Page 91 is a photo of Mod. No. 756, Series B.

Norm,
Until I get the back off I can't say what tubes are in it. I will try and get to that today.
