Colonial 657 reception issue
8/18/2006 10:11:39 AMGreg
Hi,

I've re-capped this radio and have found that the radio generates pops and static while changing stations. Its picks up a lot of stations but the static makes the sound of the station dirty. The tubes have all been replaced. The volume works fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Greg

Hi, Greg, here's the schematic: http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel/863/M0002863.pdf

Have you cleaned the tuning caps?

Hi Doug,

I did clean the tuning capacitor using Electronic autoparts spray cleaner. I made sure none of the fins touched through the entire rotation.
