hi everyone,i'm working on a philco 112,the version that uses 47's as output tubes. i've got the usual nothing out the speaker. on both of the 47's pin3 there is neg4,on both of the pin4's there's 301 but on the pin 2's one has 288 the other has 13,is this normal?? any pointers on where to go from here?thanks, phil

My guess is either a bad connection at the socket/pin or that side of the audio output transformer has a problem. Check the transformer with your ohm meter and see if both sides read about the same value.

Well Phil it would seem there are problems on both the interstage and output transformers. Pin 2 on the 47 tubes is the plate connection that goes through the output transformer. You might have to buy a couple of transformers from one of the old radio suppliers.

thanks greg, there was an open winding[secondary] in the interstage, bypassed with a cap and resistor[norm leal taught me that one] but still got nothing. turns out that the tone control was shorted internally which was killing signal to tubes, found this out accidentally when i forgot to reattach it,radio now working but sounds a little tinny with no tone so i'll take it apart and replace caps. thanks for your help ,phil :Well Phil it would seem there are problems on both the interstage and output transformers.
