Hi, I just restored this set and the station that is playing is not what the dial is indicating so the station at 580 is indicating 550 but the sations get more accurate above 900. The set was aligned and the usual bad parts replaced. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Kris

Here is the schematic:

http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel/363/M0021363.pdf

The IF frequency is probably set low. The signal generator may not have been exact?

When the IF frequency is low the oscillator is operating lower in frequency. It requires more capacity change to cover the range at lower frequencies.

IF Frequency of this radio is 455. Try aligning it at 465 and see if there is improvement.

Look at your tuner. Be sure the plates on the smaller section aren't bent out.

Thanks for the reply, I did find one problem the needle had been moved at one time so I re-adjusted it, the 550 to about 900 is almost dead on it is above this that it is out, my bad I should have noticed the needle out, but the problem still exist just at the higher band. I tried re-peaking at the different i.f. frequencey and it did nothing and none of the plates are bent.
