I am in need of the audio transformer for a Cadillac Model 7240371
This is a pre 1941 auto radio that has weak audio.

Hi Mike,

Part number for the output transformer is 7240821, push-pull 7C5's to 3.45 ohm speaker. The resistance measurement for the primary is 360 ohms, secondary is 25 ohms.

In case you haven't found it, the schematic is here:

Have you replaced the capacitors in the radio? Before you condemn the output transformer, check or disconnect capacitor # 14, the .001 at 1600 vdc that is connected across the output transformer primary (from 7C5 plate to 7C5 plate). If this cap is leaky or shorted, you will still get B+ voltage on the plates, but weak or no sound. Also check the coupling caps from the 7F7 plates to 7C5 grids, items # 19 and 22.

I have an output transformer from a junker 56 Olds radio (push-pull 6V6's). If you think you can use it, let me know.

Definitely check all capacitors in the radio, and check the output transformer for continuity. In order to get accurate readings, each component you test must be disconnected from the rest of the radio. Check each half of the output primary. The secondary should be fine since you are getting some audio.
