this thing is at best landfill fodder but a friend would like it to work so i thought i'de give it a shot,can't find a schematic,has a plastic covered cap hooked to a selenium rectifer that has spewed its insides everywhere, its got a color code like a resistor, yel,vio,orange,what may be gold,then a space and yel,any body no its' value?? thanks,phil

It will show values you need. Plastic cap across the AC line is C2, .047 mf. Use 600 volt rated or modern X or Y type caps.

thanks norm,it was kind of a pain to veiw,my reader couldn't do it but i finally got it opened. replaced 2 tubes,all the paper caps,filters o.k. for now and she fired up,plays well,i'll replace filters when i can find them,their values are kinda higher and i don't have any but the parts store is open tomorow,not much room in this thing,its a little portable so i'm going to have to restuff the multi,thanks again,phil:Hi Phil
