Fada KW Console Radio
4/18/2000 11:53:53 PMMike
My mother gave me an old Fada KW "Flash-o-Graph" console radio. I have searched many e-sites and have found much info about Fada radios, but all the info I've seen is about tabletop models. The console is primarily walnut, and has (2) outward sliding doors. The top and bottom edges of the console are trimmed with ornate wood carving. The sliding doors, when opened, expose three knobs on a golden burlwood panel, an ornate carved wood lattice, the speaker cloth, the dial (55 - 155 KHz), and a Fada metal insert that frames a 2"x.3" glass indicator tube of some sort. Can anyone point me to a URL that has some info on Fada console radios?

Hi Mike

Your radio was made around 1931. There are two pages of information here on nostalgiaair. Go to "schematics", click on "Rider by Original Index", Fada and KW. The Chassis KW was used in Models #48 and 49.

:Hello Mike and Norm,
I am trying to locate a Fada Console Radio photograph. I am particularly interested in both a front view and a rear view (with no back cover,if there is one). I believe the Model I need is a 48 or 49 (KW) We no longer have the radio, but it was in the family approximately mid 1930's until mid 1940's
. I already have the Rider Schematic drawing. I would just like to find photos of the console.
Thanks
