Hi does anyone know where you can get the converters to adapt the 1629 as a replacment for a 6u5? tubes and more does not have them anymore, or is it a easy converion to do yourself?

Hi Elton

You can make your own. It takes 2 diodes and 2 caps:

Can also buy from Bill Turner (dial covers). His price is reasonable.
