identify unknown English Vidor?
7/1/2006 10:24:32 PMEddie Watts
Can anyone identify the model, the year, and IF for this Vidor? It is in a dark wood console cabinet with full-length doors with a non-original BSR Monarch turntable under the lid. It has a tuning eye above a glass slide rule dial, with white band markings for LW, pink for AM, blue and green for S1 and S2. Tube lineup is: ECH35, EF39, EBC33, EM34; and on separate chassis; L63, (L63?, 2nd audio missing), pair of 6V6GT's, and unknown (missing) rectifier like 5Y3GT. The audio chassis has been modified, apparently to get around an open interstage transformer. It has 2 large 40 Hy chokes (one is open) and a really large pwoer transformer. It is beginning to work, but I need a schematic and dial stringing guide. I'm also looking for a new red Mullard EF39, and maybe a source for affordable EM34's.

I did post this last year - but still looking.

Might want to post on the UK radio forum?
