Philco Model 5 Transitone Car Radio

Would appreciate any information as far as age, or any other pertinent information about this radio. It is an auto radio with a Philco head, bakelite knobs and a box that goes under the dash which contains the radio and speaker. I have been told it is rare, but I can find no information on it at all. Anyone knowing anything about this radio, would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bob

Check out the schematics here on nostalgiaair. There is a Philco car radio AR-5. The schematic is in Rider Vol #12 which means the radio was made around 1941.

Go to schematics, click on Rider by Original Index, Philco and the model number.
