Looking for reliable source for appraisal/ and/or refurbishing of a Zenith console Cobra phonograph and radio. Model 12h080. Any other web sources would also be helpful. Looking to sell or refurbish.

I see a 12H090 model listed, but no 12H080.

But anyway, this will be a post-war radio-phono console. These are generally not highly sought after by collectors. For one thing, the size of such consoles makes shipping difficult and expensive, so your market will be mostly local.

I doubt that you could pay somebody to restore it and wind up with a value that exceeds the cost of repair. If the set is significant to you, then by all means get it repaired and use it in your home. Otherwise, you could try to sell in as-is.

Slusser's "Collector's Guide to Antique Radios, 6th edition" lists the value range for a 12H090 as $110-130. This would be for a set in reasonably good condition.

Cobras are awesome machines, even if the post-war cabinet styling isn't the greatest. If you refurbish your phonograph, you will enjoy noiseless reproduction (if you use the correct needle....for 78 rpm, use nothing less than a 3 mil diamond needle).

.....Don't expect it to be worth a ton, though.
