Which kind of Output transformer?
5/25/2006 11:33:42 PMElton
Hi All I am working on this 41-256 Philco and the output transformer is missing but not sure what I can safely replace this with. Any Ideas as to which will fill the bill?
Thanks
Elton

Elton, here's your schematic: http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel/410/M0013410.pdf

This set has a push-pull output, so you need a xfmr with a center-tapped output. Otherwise, not too critical.

You can leaf through the AES and RadioDaze catalogs to find universal types or ones recommended for your specific output tube types.

I seems that somebody canibalized your xfmr. Perhaps the set has another problem, too. Check the power transformer - that is more expensive than the audio xfmr.

Thanks Doug , yes the power transformer was also bad I have replaced it with a 325-0-325 , with a 6.3 heater hope I am close on the transformer I believe the cathode is suppose to be around 280 volts on the output ( can't read the schematic to well) I know the 84 can handle a max of 350 per plate so I hope I will be OK. do you see any problems with my choice?
Thanks Elton
