Radiola III Input Capacitors

I am wondering if anyone knows the values of the
capacitors at the antenna inputs of a III/IIIA. The
schematic I have doesn't show the values.

Also, if these need replacing (as they do in my case),
what would be a good substitution?

Thank You!

Hi Chuck

They are written on my hard copy of Rider Vol #1 and also on the CD. You can find the values here on nostalgiaair under schematics.

The top cap is marked as .0005. One below that .00025 and the bottom one .00001 but it would make more sense as .0001. The last one, grid cap, is .00025.

All of these caps along with grid leak resistor are in units that look like cartridge fuses. You should be able to remove an end from these and replace the components.

I had the 5 fixed caps for mine rebuilt by: Joseph Mente 20880 Thornwood Cir Olympia Fields, IL 60461

email kf9ry@megsinet.net.

He did a remarkable job for a very reasonable price.

Hi Chuck, I think I'm looking at the same schematic as Norm and there are capacitor values marked as he details. However there are 4 aerial capacitors from the 4 aerial terminals. The bottom 3 (marked 2, 3, 4, each couple to the secondary of the coil (grid) while the first (1) couples to the primary coil. Terminal 4 is 0.00001 (should be 0.0001?), terminal 3 is 0.00025 and the value 0.0005 seems to be terminal 1 to the primary. Terminal 2 doesn't seem to be marked but 0.0005 would seem reasonable there. Perhaps someone who has a complete set could check these values. I have the remains of one of these sets to rebuild but all of these capacitors are missing so I would appreciate the information too. I'll email the schematic so you can follow it better. Don Black.
