3/31/2006 1:01:30 PMke9zm
Was looking at ebay and someone has a a bunch of old radios in a basement for $250.

One of the items has a nameplate "Powerizer" from the Radio Reception Co. Inc

Was wondering what this is...

Here is the ebay link with a picture (convert to one line if fragmented)

The unit looks like an old battery eliminator. The rest of the collection looks like a disaster.

Agreed, its a "B" battery eliminator, and the rest is a filler material for a dumpster.

Maybe there is a #50 tube in the bottom of one of those boxes. Maybe that would make it worth $250. Hmmm Maybe

Someone else also thinks it must be worth something, it has a $100 bid on it.

Hi

Bidding is strange. Might be something a person wants? Maybe they are taking a chance there is something not shown? Like a grab bag..

It seems that the current month hasn't rolled over to April? Maybe that's somehow connected to the problems.

Perhaps you could show a bit of maturity and clean up your act. This is a family forum. If you have a problem with something I wrote send me an email, I would be glad to respond, the forum is not the place for this. My email is posted, I have nothing to hide.

I agree. If you think all of that is dumpster material, perhaps you should be working on something else besides radios. Restoration takes items that most imaginationless people consider junk and turns them into items that people drool over. All of those bakelite radios can be restored cosmetically with Brasso or Mothers Aluminum Polish. The luster will be amazing. All of those other parts are quite useful, too.

Sorry boys, it’s an opinion, it’s worth exactly what you paid for it. No need to get testy. Lighten up, one mans junk is another’s treasure, or in this case (in my humble and controversial opinion) vise versa.
