:I am looking for information on a Walton Radio, manufactured by the Walton Radio Corporation of Toledo, Ohio. It was built at the factory in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is a TRF set using a 35 RF amp, a 24A detector,a 47 audio out, and an 80 rectifier. I have rebuilt it as it had deteriorated and rusted badly. It now works very well and the fidelity is great. Any idea as to age, etc
::I am not familiar with that radio but by the tube line up I would say its a 1932 model.

:Thanks Greg, I suspect this company was in business only a short time as I have been unable to find it listed anywhere. Dick

:Walton was a marketing company that breifly attempted to service the privat brand dime store and discount trade. Their sets were mostly built under contract. the early ones, such as yours, were manufactured by Arborphone, and placed in various inexpensive mantel aand console type cabinets built in the Grand Rapids area furniture shops. Later sets were made by Detrola and Arvin. The company disappeared from view with the 1937 editions of the industrial directories.
