I suggest that if this radio still has its G style tubes in place (35Z5G and 35L6G), that you leave them in the radio unless they have severe defects (weak operation, or otherwise burned out). They are rare, and make the back of the radio look exceptionally nice.

Now I see the positive side. The tubes are 35Z5GT and 35L6GT. This radio plays very nice and looks good too!

:::If you're talking about the Zenith 6D615 (not sure if that 2 is supposed to be in there), the field coil is positive. When looking at the schematic, where the condensers join up and to the left (upper left hand corner of box formed by their connections) is B-. C15 connects to the cathode of the rectifier, which is the most positive item in the radio. C14 connects after the field, which is slightly less positive than the rectifier cathode, but certainly much more positive than B-. The field coil is part of the B+ circuit.
