Do I need to re-connect all sections back together or can I skip a few and just reconnect to main part?
Tha Antenna goes thru this coil to ground.
I have 4 sections now.
1.) The top section = 27.2 ohms from the Antenna down to this stub
2.) Broken section "A" that reads 1.4 ohms from A1 to A2
3.) Broken section "B" that reads .7 ohms from B1 to B2
4.) Last section to chassis ground = .6 ohms
Can I just connect the top to the bottom bypassing section A and B?
if not and I do put the top to A1 and A2 goes to B1 and B2 goes to the bottom section... could I maybe get phase problems since I may have sections reversed?
I decided to try just bypassing the two broken sections and just reconnect direcly the two ends...
Since the missing sections only represent about 10% of the total coil I thought I might have a good chance... and I was right.
The coil looks a little silly now with these extra useless stubs hanging out in the air... so I'll just snip 'em off now that I'm confident everything is in working order.
After a few anxious moments and a few good tweaks here and there ... it's making beautiful music again and the station tracking seems fine as well.
So....since I seem to be making and solving my own crises... I guess you should just ignore me...lol
