I have A Philco chassis 91 code 221 radio that needs speakers. It is been in my family since new and some where through the years the speakers were taken out and now they are gone. I have the schematic but am not too familiar with electronics, if I had someone tell me exactly what parts I need I could probably put it together myself or if someone has the proper speakers that would be great. Can anyone give me any help at all? Thank You, Paul

I am not familiar with your particular Philco but an excellent source to advertise for wanted parts is Antique Radio Classified (ARC). I don't have their address handy but by doing a web search or by clicking on a few "links" you should be able to find them. I don't know if you need to subscribe to advertise. Some great articles too if you decide to subscribe. I don't know the specific part numbers; you would probably just ask for working speakers for your particular model.

Paul - without looking up the schematic, my guess is that this radio uses an electrodynamic speaker, which means that you cannot get a speaker to replace it from a modern supplier like radio shack, although with some circuit modification, you could make a radio shack speaker work. I think Rene has given you the best advice - rund an ad in ARC. You do have to be a member, tho. Their website is www.antiqueradio.com.

good luck - Jim
