Zenith 5-s-29 IF tuning
3/6/2006 9:28:30 PMAl Franceschino
I am working on this model and have peaked the IFs at 252.5 KHz. I noticed that the 2 IF transformers have the traditional screws that is adjusted during the tuning. They also have a hex nut that surrounds the adjustment screw that seems to make a large effect. Does anybody know if this is a course adjustment and is later tuned with the in-set screw? This is not called out in the reference material I have on this unit.

Thanks,
Al

Hi Al, I have a Canadian Sparton that has the same adjustments and from the literature that I have the nut is the primary adjustment and the screw is the secondary. Hope that helps.
