Never easy placing an exact, or even close value on an old set. Many factors come into play, including model or style popularity, buyer preference, etc. The book Tom refers to is a good guide in an area where there isn't much and the author does a good job trying to explain how prices were arrived at. For some consoles you would be lucky to give away while others are highly prized. I attend the HVRA auctions in Houston regularly and many nice looking consoles go for a lot less than $70, even though Bunis might suggest a higher value. High tube count consoles like the Philco 37/38-116 or 690 command premium dollars, certain Zeniths and other brands even higher. If your set was sitting in an antique shop, sooner or later someone might pay a lot more than $70 for sentimental values or whatever (father owned one just like it, etc.) Now if only you had a catalin set...
