Can someone point me to some easy schematics and/or literature on wave traps? My one tuber is completely dominated by one particular station.

Radios with few stages, like your 1-tuber, have pretty poor selectivity. Several tuned stages - whether TRFs or superhets - provide much improved selectivity.

I have a Crosley 51, which has two tubes. An added trap on the antenna ckt helps some, but a nearby station still comes in like gangbusters - in places where it doesn't belong. I think part of the problem is that the unwanted RF can jump right around the trap and directly into the radio
