Clarion AC-60 jr

I have a AC-60 with what appears to be a short in the filter box. When I first got it, the chassis was filled with was from the filter and the tuner metal fram was distorted. I found a junker without the box and fixed the tuner and radio was working fine. with the old filter box. as a final test I left it on a few hours and whne I came back the filter was again leaking wax and set not working. I was scematic has a raily good picture of what is in the box. Does anyone have any experience with building a filter system and just puting it into the box? My guess that finding anothe filter box is remote.

There is an article on here about restuffing the boxes with new modern capacitors. Or you can cut the wires to the box and solder new caps in the radio where u clipped the wires. just be sure that u do not leave the old box cap wired in the system if u doit this way. If u want to keep it looking original, restuff the box. open one end scrap out all the inerds, and replace with mmodern caps. watch polarity of the caps and connect the corresponding wire to the cap. Some one else here may be able to explain it better.

This is scary. The main articles I found in the search were from when I first fixed the radio and got it working - had forgot I had asked about yhr FB's as I was worring about the tuner plates and interstage transformers. When looking at schematic it looks like it has both caps and some sort of choke/filter atrrraingements I assume they are just suggesting I replace the cap parts or do I replace the whole thing with just caps.

What are the numbers on the sche matic for the caps? C? maybe i can understand better if i new exactly what caps are leaky. Check them with an ohm meter, when u touch the leads the needle should swing up then go back to infinity, if it lingers any where above infinity after a few momments when the cap is done charging then it needs to be replaced.

Thanks,
.2,1.5,1.5,.5, .25 This is a 60 cycle version. YOu can see the filter box in the site's Clarion/ TCA Riders. Its listed as a 60, but says AC-60 and Clarion Jr in the schmatic. No voltages given.
