Hi fellow coil winders. Just a short query on
whether any of you guys know the formula or the practicality on winding homebrew rfc chokes of around
2.5mH to say 5mH for a regen set. Any info would be
a great help. Thanks in advance

Someone else asked this earlier this month. See the earlier post on this site:

For a form: use a >1 meg carbon resistor, it will be ~ 1/8 in in dia. Find two 3/4" O.D. fiber washers as end caps, that can be reamed out internally to~ 1/8 in to friction fit on each of the ends of the resistor form. (To corral in all of the turns to be contained within). Epoxy on if uncertain. Acquire # 30 enamelled wire and wind on ~950 turns of wire with the start and ends soldered to the two res leads........Now wouldn't you ratther to buy/order one...unless you are in Podunk Holler....or unless you need to expand your learning curve.
Thassit!

:I'm building a one tube regen radio from a schematic, which calls for a 5mh RF choke in series prior to the headphones. How would I make such a choke?
