Is the dialcover plastic or glass?

According to my guides, this post-war set has a square dial. Round, glass dialcovers are available, but I fear that square is going to be hard to come by.

I think your best bet is to watch for a junker on eBay that has both the dialcover and pointer.

I can't seem to find the web-link, but it seems like there is somebody out there that will mold custom, plastic dialcovers.

Sometimes, I've fashioned a replacement dialcover from a flat sheet of plastic (available at hobby shops). They don't look all that nice.

Slusser's guide lists the value of this radio as $55-65. That would be for a complete set.

It might be Rock-Sea that he's mentioning. Here's the link.

Here's the link to that site that explains how to make your own plastic dial covers molded to the exact correct shape, cheap and easily.
I have gotten everything here now( 25mil heat-formable plastic sheet, 1/4" thick masonite, hand-held jig/sabre saw) to try it myself... just haven't yet.. so when I do I'll pass along my results. It look easy and with great results. (my only thought is not to use the oven but a hand-held heatgun instead for safety)
I have at least 6 or 8 radios that need dial covers badly.
