The leads connect up to adjacent terminals on your resistor. First try between an end terminal and the one next to it. Doesn't matter which meter leads are on each terminal. Red & black can be reversed without a change in reading.

:Norm trying not to beat a dead horse but your gonna have to take me by the hand for a second here. Do i put the neg lead from the tester and ground to the bolt that runs through the middle of the resistor. Or ground it to the chasis?
