I need info about Philco Radio
2/6/2000 12:52:21 AMDick Haislet
I recently purchased a philco radio and I coud use some basic help.50 years ago I rpaired them and probably could have answered my questions then - but today!
The following is what I found in, on or about the console Radio.
A can has Model 87, 115 volts,50-60 cycles, 95 watts.(only one of several cans has this info decal so I wonder if is for Radio- not the can)
The radio has 8 tubes: 1 -80,4- 26's, 2-45's (all 4 prongs) and one "advanced" 5 prong 27. ( I hate to think of how many of these tubes I used for target practice long ago)
There is a number 49864 stamped into the chassis.
And finally the speaker is a model G.
To start with I would like to know it's vintage.
And second I wold like to Know if there are any schematics out there.
Thanks, Dick Haislet

Dick - from your description of the tube lineup, the set
would be a model 87. You should be able to download
the schematic from this site - check the main menu.

My guess is that the set dates from the late 20's or early 30's.

good luck - Jim
