multitester ? Testing resistance

Norm trying not to beat a dead horse but your gonna have to take me by the hand for a second here. Do i put the neg lead from the tester and ground to the bolt that runs through the middle of the resistor. Or ground it to the chasis?

Not sure quite what you are doing, but whenever you want to test a resistor for accurate resistance, you remove it from the circuit which it is in and then you place your meter leads across it, either in entirity or across the various sections which you wish to test--that is, if the resistor has sections. Resistors are not polarity sensitive. You may connect your meter leads in any way that you wish.
