Also, i tried to get a dial glass, mine is missing and the places that do make them up needs the broken dial glass, i do not have it...........HELP!
Also i need the brown plastic extuchoun, i know , i am asking for a lot, but this was my dads radio, and it means a lot to me.
Any help on this would be very much appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
Bill

There are a lot more schematics now on nostalgiaair. After selecting schematics, click on Rider by Original Index, then the manufacturer. There are some pages on 87K, 87K1 and 87K2. These are for US radios.

HI Norm.....
Well i located RCA 87K2, but that was only a very very large text file, it drove my HD crazy, i could not do a save-as, i could not get to read it, the hard drive was going constantly, could not print it out, gave an error, but there was no schematic, only text which was hard to read off the computer screen.
But thanks anyway for the info, guess i will have to work with what i have, till i get a Sams on it.

Hi Bill

I'll send you the schematic for RCA 87K1. I see what happened. The 87K2 is just a text file telling you it's the same as 87K1.

Hi Norm ...
I just picked up the radio you are restoring
I have not done a Console yet ..and I need information
before I start ... This radio was in a attic and
after the cleanup ...it has minimal damage
But it dosent make a peep ...
I can measure the glass for you ...since I have it in front of me ...
Have you done anything yet with the electrolytics ?
I have not replaced these high cans ...
Maybe you could answer a few Questions about them

let me know Stan in Mass ...

First, Bill Benson is the one restoring the radio. I think that if you scan the dial glass on your computer in color and then print it out at exactly the same size, that'll do him wonders. You could then mail it to him. I don't recommend e-mailing the file to him. If it doesn't match up with his computer, he'll get it in a different size. Use the best resolution possible.

Regarding plastic escutcheons and such, there is a place that molds them as well as dials. I have to find it. I have it saved away in my e-mail somewhere.

Bill I also have the same chassis mine is a tombstone model 87T2, it is identical to the console chassis, my dial glass in the eschution was also missing what I did was went down to local hobby shop and picked up the thin plastic used for model airplane windows and cut it to fit into the eschution , although it is not glass it looks pretty good as a replacment. just a suggestion.
