I just located the name of the stereo console I am look for the date of manufacture on. It is: "Astrosonic Series". It is a solid state stereo high fidelity, in a walnut cabinet. The model number tag has been partially obliterated (rubbed ~ and most of the identifying numbers are gone), but I believe the last three digits are 628. I'm very interested in finding out what year in which this stereo was manufactured (made in England). Can anyone help?

Hi Ginger,
The turntable was made in England, not the whole set. It would be extreme luck if someone comes up with data on just what you have. It's most time hard when you have model number. You really need to remove the back and gather up the numbers stamped on the tuner and elsewhere. You then have a better chance of identifying it.

Joseph, read my reply to Ginger. This is a must do. At least before I can get anywhere identifying Magnavox dates. And it does not always work.
