Crosley 124

I'm trying to recap a Crosley 124, but I have a couple of problems: One, I don't have a lot of experience with early '30's sets and I have trouble identifying components, esp. potted caps whose values are not clearly maked and don't seem to match the schematic. Second, the schematic itself (Riders')is blurry and I can't make sense of what I'm looking at. It would be very helpful if someone with experience with these older sets help me decipher the values of the caps and resistors. For instance, there is a cap between the tone control and the phase inverter transformer, and and another cap coming off the anode of the #27 (detector?), both appear to read "25uf". That can't be, can it? To make matters worse, I can't I.D. those components in the set. Help! (thanks)

Hi Neal

Crosley 124 can also be found here.

Trace wires from potted caps and see where they connect. Check against the schematic. Most potted caps are bypass and values aren't critical. Larger values are usually better than smaller.
