Thank you to Thomas, Marv and all those involved with this website. You have been given me a great deal of help all year.

Sometimes I wonder what kind of help I am on here. I tend to make others angry a lot and I tend to get offended a lot, too. Wish I didn't wear my heart on my sleeve.

Jim and Thomas,
Although my offerings were miniscule, thank you to the learned cadre at Nostalgia Air for all their help this year. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Seasons Greetings and Many Thanks to Doug, Marv, Norm and Thomas, You all have helped in more ways than I can (in an effort to be brief) enumerate. Thomas your ramblings are useful, utilitarian, and entertaining. In the process of enjoying your exchanges I have learned much, smiled often, and saved quite a few radios. Merry Christmas

To ALL:
RAmbling is good when it has knowledge and info. I'm VERY new to collecting old radios (I am mainly a solid state tech.) and have found this site to be very informative. I have learned alot just by reading the threads and very thankful for the time everyone takes to answer questions from others. There is something about the old tube units that give me goosbumps especially when you troubleshoot one and get it working. Most of the guys I have worked with that are good at this are long gone. THanks again...

These guys are the best Read Thomas very slowly, carefully, and think about what he says before you respond. For a youngster his knowledge is insightfull. I dont mean to slight Norm, Marv or the rest, but Thomas is fun.

So? One thing I have been upset about over the past 10-15 years or more actually is the way people just want the answer, no background or how one arrives at the answer. Working folks or school kids. All about the same. What's the answer Pa? No time to waste on crunching the numbers or reading the text. What's the answer? There's not always a quick fix or answer.

I copy and keep a whole lot of your replies or parts of them Thomas. As well as many of the others. Reminders and tips I call them. I got lots of good stuff copied. Something as simple as Norm's tip on what pin number of the 50B5 and 50C5 goes to output transformer so you'll know what was in a set if missing. And yes I know about the plates. If anyone has a web site I most likely have it in favorites. I enjoy this site very much and appreciate the very helpful people.

From another novice to vintage radio,I wish to express my most sincere thanks to all that have responded to my postings with patience and knowledge. All have been most generous with imparting their hard won knowlegde and history and to someone that has no background in electronics it has slowly begun to make a little sence.Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

Well, one of the reasons why I do go on and on is because I want people to get the whole idea. I, too, cannot stand it when someone just wants the answer, or worse yet, when someone gives me an answer and then says that the reason for the answer is simply because that is the way it is. We need more people like you, Bill.

I agree with Bill, everyone on this site has more knowledge than I could ever hope to know , everything I know is from reading theory books etc, but some things books cannot tell you such as a certain problem with a particular set or work arounds or tricks that the pros on this site have delt with in the past, their insite has helped me out with many problems and I also copy or print off a section that I know someday will come in handy. Thanks to all of you Norm, Thomas , Rich , and so on,(too many to name off here but you know who you are!)This Site is awesome and is at the top of my favorites, Merry Christmas To all of you and to everyone who visits this Forum

Hey Thomas,

Your answers are fine though at times it is a little difficult to understand your point. No offense intended as I also had that issue (and still do occasionally). How I was able to get around it as best I could was to type out an answer or email or what-have-you, walk away for a few minutes for a drink of water or something and then go back and re-read it. If it still made sense, then I kept it. Otherwise, I edited again to see if it made more sense for what I was trying to say. I have to mentally force myself to remove verbage as I am a true wordaholic. (This post, an example?).

Anyway, my thanks added to you as well as the other many great folks on here who have tried to help me. Happy Holidays!

Best regards,

Rick
